KE25 Interior

Interior: I have swapped the original cream coloured vinyl seats, door cards and side trims for the late ke25 SL spec black versions, but kept the original cream roof lining. Also found that st182 series celica have a nice deep bucket style rear seat that fits nicely width wise.. it just needs the corner trimmed to clear the wheel tub, then retrimmed in black vinyl. The next stage is to collect as many jdm TE27 spec interior parts as possible and refit these parts as they're sourced keeping to the period theme. So far have collected a Levin passenger seat and also the 3-gauge heater panel. For the drivers seat i'm needing something more supportive, so hope to either buy an old Bride bucket seat, or retrim a ke25 seat with extra side support and padding to look like the te27 levin seat. For audio, the ke25 center console can fit a single din head deck (without cutting it up) by making a custom insert for the clock panel with the clock moved to the bottom and stereo moved to the upper (wider) part of console.  I had ordered a Sparco 'champion limited edition' wheel with red stitching but it went on back order and after 3 months wait I demanded refund. Sparco USA... hopeless. I have a TRD ball gearknob to finish it off.

The pic below shows me testing a kp61 starlet water temperature sensor to see if it was compatible with the te27 oil temp guage... which it was not. But further research from 'Doctor' from Holland (ke20 2tg owner) has found the jdm TE27 OIL TEMP sensor part number to be 83420-12010. Which is the same temp sensor used for water temp in corolla KE, TE2#, 3#, 4#, 5#, 6# Corolla 1800 (3TC), Carina TA, RA1#, 3#, Celica ra2#, 3#, 4#, (18R), Crown rs5#-10#, ms5#-.
